Well I survived boards. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated, but then again, everything I say always has the disclaimer that I may not have passed. But hopefully it is over and done with. I have to wait 6 weeks for my scores, which confuses me beyond belief. It's computerized....so why the long wait?

My first weekend of freedom was fun. Friday we went to a Royals game. After the game was the largest fireworks display in Kansas City's history. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything more spectacular than 4th of July displays when I'm back home, but I did get some cool new shots. Then we went to Shannon's birthday party. It was really nice seeing everyone after we all hunkered down to study for the past month.

Saturday we went shopping. For the last year my camera has a smudge on it.

See it? Really irritating, right? Ruins a nice picture. So I take it to a camera shop to see about it getting cleaned/fixed. Bad, BAD idea. It was going to be just $45 to look at my camera...that's not even opening it up/cleaning/fixing the part. And no guarantee it could be fixed. The lady basically told me it wasn't worth it, just go buy a new one. Ugh.

But the good news is I leave for home in less than a week. Our trip to Greece is just around the corner. I even got a few lunches with friends planned for the week. And now on to the cool shots I got at the Royals game.

Boards TOMORROW

Well this is my last day of studying. I take boards tomorrow, which is scary, exciting, nerve wracking, OMG all wrapped up into one! So prayers and happy thoughts from 9-5 tomorrow will be much, MUCH appreciated.

Also, say a big prayer for all of those people effected by the flooding in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. It is very surreal to see places I walked everyday underwater now. I really wish I could be there to help.

Congratulations!

My sister graduated from high school today. I told her a couple days ago that it made me feel like I'm 50...and I was only half joking. I can't believe how fast she grew up.

Congratulations Alli! Wish I could have been there.

I'm sure you looked beautiful in your cap and gown.

And walked, not rode, across the stage with your head held high.

And then gave Mom and Dad dirty looks when they took too many pictures.

I love you and am very proud of you!

We're Not in Kansas Anymore

Is it bad that I've lived here for nearly two years and I can't pick out my county on the weather map? I'm going with yes.

OMG X2

You have got to be f'ing kidding me. More bathroom shenanigans. I took an 8 hour practice test for the boards today. I ran down to THE bathroom on one of my breaks. And once again, someone was sitting on the john with the door wide open. This time I actually walked in. I don't know who it was more embarrassing for. I think I actually laughed out loud as I walked out the door.

Is it just me? I'm going to make a sign.
-----------------------------------------------
For the past few days it has been forecast to rain. I always bring my umbrella in from the car in the morning but either it doesn't ran or I completely miss it since I've been going home anywhere from 10-12pm. Well wouldn't you know it, I don't bring it today and it decides to hail. Lovely. So I'm actually ready to go home at a decent hour but can't leave for fear I will lose an eye.

I'm really in the mood for fireworks.
